The IntrovertedKnitter’s Wish List for 2013

December 31, 2012

With the new year right around the corner, I am branching off the post, I am a Knitter who from a few weeks back I have decided to create another list. This time I thought I would share some of the goals for 2013. I am using this wish list as a sort of New Year’s resolution  list.  This isn’t meant to be a regular wishlist but rather the list signifies things I hope to be able to do or try in the coming year.

The IntrovertedKnitter’s wish list for 2013

1) follow in the foot steps of the yarn harlot and make my own sock of the month club -the patterns and yarn are picked just waiting for Jan. 1 to cast on the first one

2)Work on my book, with hopes of getting it out to the first round of beta readers in March

3) work on a long-range planning box ( also inspired by the yarn harlot)- perhaps as an attempt to avoid the end of the year/holiday gift giving panic

4)Become more confident in my skills as a writer

5) knit from my own hand spun

6) finish knitted item for a wedding in the summer- the deadline looms closer everyday

7) teach someone else how to knit

8) make items to donate

9) start attending a knitting group- I have attended one in the last year, the group was awesome but then life got in the way and I missed a few weeks, then a month and now it feels like it would be too awkward to go 😦

10) Try not to feel guilty about pursuing my dream job

11) Share more of my writing on the blog

12) spin more

13) weave place mats

14) weave with my own hand spun

15) learn to dye my own fiber

16) go to a sheep and wool festival- it’s on my schedule for this summer, fingers crossed I don’t get sick

17) submit an article to a knitting publication,

18) finish the blanket for my bestie

19) knit more from my ravelry queue

20) Make more lace shawls

21) make more vanilla socks for both my husband and myself

22) finally make a pair of mittens and a hat for myself, that I keep- Almost already done with the mittens

23) try to figure out a way to keep sheep in the apartment ( totally kidding on that one )

Anything you are daring to try in the new year ? For the non-fiber readers what are some of your resolutions this year, any tips or tricks for sticking to them?

  1. I should just “cut and paste” from your list 🙂 so many things that I would love to do as well! Good luck on your list and pursuing your dream job. I live by the motto… “Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss you will land among the Stars!” GO FOR IT!!!

  2. On #9 – Don’t be too nervous to go. Knitters are great people and we understand that life sometimes gets in the way. Just go. You’ll be glad you did.

  3. I think keeping sheep in the apartment is an admirable goal! 😉 Actually for some time I’ve wished I could keep an apiary on my apartment balcony.

  4. I’m trying to decide on my crafty resolutions and haven’t quite decided yet. Your list is impressive! Maybe I should try to sock club thing.

  5. I am working on my list today. I am trying to incorporate knitting, spinning and sewing on my list. Yours is definitely doable 🙂 especially #3. Did you purchase her book or does she have a website? mb
