A little less simple Hat

March 13, 2013

Life is continuing on here at the Introverted Knitter. We were met with snow this past weekend which has left me with a desire to knit up some warm head-gear. Yesterday’s hat was for my husband as a match to his woven scarf. Today it is a random attempt at color work design. Using some acrylic yarn (Caron Simply Soft to be exact) and some needles I cast on and let the needles fly. My stranding is getting better and there is definitely less puckering (huzzah!) This project also gave me the chance to practice knitting  with my other hand (in the English style.) Like most color work the project went quick. I had cast on for the brim late Monday night, finishing the ribbing yesterday before making up the pattern on the needles and finishing in the afternoon yesterday. All in all a pretty quick knit.

Size 8 needles.

Do you like to design on the needles? When working with color work do you use two styles or some other way? Let us know in the comments

  1. Cute colorwork! I love knitting with two hands.

    • Thank you. I am still a newbie at it, as I can’t purl in the English style at all. Thankfully the projects haven’t needed it yet.
