You Might Be a Spinner

July 10, 2013

You might be a Spinner if:

1. You have seriously considered different ways of  attaining a sheep as a pet

2. You’ve fallen asleep at your wheel

3. Your wheel gets cleaned more than your house

4. You’ve begun looking at your long-haired cat and wondering how difficult it might be to spin

5. You are always on the look out for bringing another wheel into the herd

6. When asked why you spin instead of just buying commercial yarn, you ask, “why knit when you can just buy it at the store?”

7. You spin more than you knit

8. Hearing a squeaking wheel makes your heartache

9. You’ve spun to calm yourself down from a stressful day

10. You no longer save the “good stuff” until you’re better

11. You joke about needing to get a daily dose of fiber

12. You laughed a little at number 11

13.You start to notice the sheep that graze on the nearby farm as you go to work

14.You keep a  finished skein, or two on your desk/end table, just to pet for a while

15. You’ve chased  your cats around the house, as a trail of fiber drags after them (just me then?)

16. You hear about a spin class nearby and are disappointed when you realize it’s for bikes

17. You enjoy talking about crimp and staple length

18. The scent of wool makes you a little weak in the knees

19. You have various bags of fiber hanging out in your freezer

20. This list made you smile, and you nodded along to at least a few.

  1. #4 (and dryer lint), my gateway drug. 🙂 Great list.

  2. Love it!!!

  3. Q – I love this!! It speaks to the heart of this spinner. And lollyknits – LMAO! I wonder if would trick our HOA? Hum……

  4. 5a) You have enough spinning wheels that it classifies as a herd…

    Great post!

  5. #15- definitely not just you.

  6. Babydoll Southdown sheep are totally small and could completely live in your back yard in lieu of a dog. Just saying.

  7. LOL!!! #14 & #18 (among others). I thought it was just me!
