August Socks

August 4, 2015

I had drawn my August socks back on the first of this month, but I didn’t bother casting on until Monday night. I think it might have something to do with the yarn. This month the yarn chosen is some Knit Picks Stroll Multi in a colorway I really don’t care for, Tuscany. Of course when I purchased this yarn back in 2010/2011 I really did like the colors, of course this was also when I was fairly new to knitting and didn’t realize that I am not the biggest fan of the way this yarn pools.

Anyway in order to get this pair done (and to possibly secure another score for the gift box) I decided to use a pattern. I don’t usually use patterns when knitting my socks, I may have used them once maybe twice at most. This time however, I decided to try out the super popular Rose City Rollers pattern, which is a short rolled brim of a sock that should hopefully result in a rather quick knit. I may tweak the pattern ever so slightly and tack on a Fish Lips Kiss Heel instead of the one listed in the pattern, if nothing else I would like a little more practice at it.

So far so good.

  1. I’m a big fan of the Fish Lips Kiss heel and have started using it on all my socks. I love the way it fits. And I totally understand about the pooling. A lot of colorways look gorgeous in the skein, but when they are knitted up, they pool and/or flash in a must unappealing way. I hate it when that happens.
